Benton Junior College has achieved Performance and Development Culture accreditation. This accreditation recognises that our college has established a working environment that builds the capacity of our staff to teach to high professional standards. We have developed a culture that promotes continuous improvement in the quality of teaching and learning, and have achieved the required standard of a professional learning community characterised by team-work, innovation, reflection and continued development.

To achieve accreditation, our college was assessed across five key elements relating to the induction of new staff, the use of data to develop college programs, the development of individual professional learning plans for all staff, the provision of quality ongoing teacher training programs that focus on the improvement of student outcomes, and the extent to which staff work together and consider the college supports their professional growth and development.

Having achieved this accreditation, our College was nominated by the Department of Education and Training as a Reference School to support other schools seeking to achieve Performance and Development Culture accreditation. As a Reference school we have been invited to present at the Performance and Development Culture Expos conducted by the Southern Metropolitan Region and the Department of Education and Training, and continue to assist with enquiries from other schools.

Our accreditation as a school with a Performance and Development Culture is acknowledgement for the collaborative approach and achievements of our staff, the partnerships with parents and the learning opportunities provided to our children. It places our college community in an excellent position to continue to improve on our already outstanding results.
